culminating activity
The student will demonstrate what he/she has learned through an activity or event that aligns to GLO #2, a Community Contributor. Types of culminating activities can include: a demonstration, an exhibit, an event, or a study. The project planning must be done on the student's own time and includes utilizing a Project Advisor who serves as the content expert. With prior proposal approval, the student's project hours may be logged before the onset of the student's last year of school. However, he/she will still need to complete a culminating activity that showcases what they learned from the 20+ project hours and demonstrates a positive impact on their peers, school, and/or community
The form of the culminating activity will depend on the student's project choice (e.g., Service Learning Project, Personal Interest Project, or Career Interest Project).
Some examples of students' activities/events include: Student created instructional videos, public service announcements, digital projection board and presentation, student authored websites, digital and traditional scrapbooks, art pieces, digital slideshows, practical demonstrations, and so on. Whatever a student chooses as his/her culminating activity, it needs to demonstrate a clear connection to his/her overall topic and provide evidence of its impact on the intended audience.
