On-campus mentor
The On-Campus Mentor's role is to be a facilitator, instructor, and coach. He/she instructs students in both the planning and implementation of the Senior Project as well as teaches specific skills such as time management, research, effective presentation, and clear writing. The Senior Project is an unpredictable process. Students will test their ideas, make mistakes, modify their plans, and find alternative solutions. As a whole, only a few Senior Projects will be completed without modifications or revisions. Thus, the On-Campus Mentor is there to support and guide the student through the process and to help ensure timely completion.
"I don't think a mentor needs to be an expert on my topic...the main thing is that my mentor is available and willing to help me when I need help."
